Axle holders for Liebherr LTM-1300 crane
New parts for Chriess' model of the six-axle automobile crane in 1/24 scale. Slightly better shape and more rigidity than the original ones.
File list
jerab-drzakynaprav.bmp - the kit and an instructional drawing; 1500x2100 px image in 200 DPI, intended for print on A4 format. The page contains all three holders, print it just once.
jerab-drzakynaprav.dwg - the same in vectors (AutoCAD 2002 format)
*.htm - instructional texts. If you are disgusted by my misspelling (English is not my primary language), feel free to correct it or translate to any other language you know ;-).
Marks and symbols
- Solid line - outlines and mountain folds
- Dash-dot line - valley folds
- Dashed line - borders of glue-something-here areas (don't score, don't fold!)
- Red cross - cut this surface out
- Green tail of a number - this part needs laminating
Instructional drawing is off-scale and off-proportion, don't use it for any measurements.
Material and print
I recommend about 0.2 mm thick paper (160 g/m2) or two layers of ordinary office paper.
Don't forget to turn "preserve aspect ratio" on and "stretch to page" off.
You will also need some cardboard about 1 mm thick (exact thickness doesn't matter), a piece of thinner one and several wooden skewers or sticks.
Assembly
Laminate bulkhead 1 with a 1 mm cardboard. Fold parts 2 and 3 and glue them together by their trapezoidal centers (leave flaps on the ends free). Insert ends of bulkhead 1 into slits in parts 2 (if they don't fit in, trim them as needed) and edge-glue them together.
Repeat this two more times...
Glue the finished holders over the appropriate spots on the crane main structure.
Laminate parts 4 with the thinner cardboard, cut out and fold to a U shape. Edge-glue them to the axles (two on each), symmetrically and in the same distance from each other as the holders' ends are.
After attaching the axles to the main structure, make connecting rods from skewers and install them according to the drawing.
That's all, folks.
Enjoy the build and see you later with another models!
